BEND IT LIKE JENNA
I'm not the most flexible guy. I can barely touch my knees. I don't even think people should be able to touch their toes. What's the point? As long as we can reach our mouths who cares?
Today's character, Jenna Carpenter, is a contortionist, aerial artist, circus performer, etc and she not only can touch her toes, but she can bend over backwards and lick her heels… or something like that.
She showed us a couple of routines that literally gave me a backache just watching. She does things with her body that I don't think her Maker intended her to.
That said, it's pretty darn impressive. But I'm always impressed by people who can do crazy things that I can't. And most people fall in this category.
Jenna gave us a chance to try a routine and we failed miserably—what a surprise. Unfortunately, for all of us, it didn't make matters better that it was well over 100 degrees outside. A personal thanks to Archie (producer) for making sure we stayed well-hydrated. Arch, your mother would be proud.
Jenna has devoted herself to doing all sorts of wacky circus tricks and that certainly makes her a character. And all characters are welcome. Even really stretchy ones.
