VEGAS BABY!!!
For our first day in Las Vegas, Evan and I met up with our character, card shark and professional dealer (games, not drugs) Mike Vitale (not exactly the cat you wanna owe money to.)
He taught us how to deal blackjack and roulette. He deals all of the games but he only had an hour or so to spend due to his busy schedule of training future dealers for pretty much every casino in town.
Since I'm addicted to blackjack (help!) I chose to learn how to deal that while Evan dealt roulette.
I know what you're thinking right about now? This blog isn't funny. You're right. That's because gambling is a serious thing. And you could lose you thousands of dollars if you're not careful. And a designer jacket. And your best friend. And all your bar mitzvah money. And never mind. God forbid that should happen to anyone.
As my friend Scott Weinger always says "These casinos don't have real Monets on the walls because people are winning."
Anyway, back to our character Mike Vitale. He not only gave us the best advice we needed to win in Vegas, he also helped us track down some fun night activities.
He told us to check out a place called the Green Door, but Evan and I were too tired. So ... Our super, awesome producer Archie went to check it out. Apparently, Mike knows a thing or two about the late night scene as well.
Anyway (again), before we left our educational afternoon with Mike he had us put our new skills to the test. We both failed miserably. Surprise. Thank the Lord, Mike is a guy who is very forgiving. But not enough to let us give it another go. Would you? We wouldn't have. Mike was cool for sharing the tricks of the trade with us. And all characters who share, teach, turn, or learn tricks are welcome here.
Sincerely your old friend,
Jaron
P.S. I wrote this whole thing while on a phone call with my accountant. Can you tell?
