Resident Alien Confirms Series Will End with Season 4
Series creator Chris Sheridan and stars Alan Tudyk, Sara Tomko, Corey Reynolds, and Alice Wetterlund are set for the SDCC 2025 panel.
Alan Tudyk's Harry Vanderspeigle has reached the end of his journey. Ahead of Resident Alien's San Diego Comic-Con panel on Friday, July 25, USA Network and SYFY confirmed that Resident Alien will come to a close with Season 4.
This fourth and final season has mainly dealt with Harry coming to grips with his newfound humanity, while simultaneously sharing the secret of his true identity — either intentionally or not — with other key characters like Ben and Kate Hawthorne (played by Meredith Garretson and Levi Fiehler).
Resident Alien to end after Season 4
“I knew going into it that this was likely going to be our final season,” series creator Chris Sheridan told TV Insider. “Creatively, that was exciting because I knew we could spend the time wrapping up some storylines and driving toward an ending. I’m so proud of how good Season 4 is and especially proud that we were able to finish as strongly as we did, with a finale that is probably my favorite episode of the series.”
Based on the Dark Horse comic of the same name by writer Peter Hogan and illustrator Steve Parkhouse, Resident Alien centers around an extra-terrestrial visitor sent to destroy all life on Earth. Assuming the identity of a local physician, the alien tries his best to blend into the town of Patience, Colorado, where he gradually learns that our species may be worth saving after all.
In addition to Sheridan, the show's executive producers also include Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg of Dark Horse Entertainment; Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV; Nastaran Dibai; and Robert Duncan McNeill.
Critical acclaim for Resident Alien
Boasting a near-perfect score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, the show received critical acclaim since it first premiered in early 2021, with Tudyk often singled out for his memorably gonzo fish-out-of-water performance. The show also racked up a number of industry nominations and/or wins from the Saturn Awards, Hollywood Critics Association, Satellite Awards, and Leo Awards.
How to watch Resident Alien
Three episodes of Resident Alien remain! Season 4, Episode 8 — "Mine Town" — airs on USA Network and SYFY tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET. Episodes 9 ("Tunnel Vision") and 10 ("The End is Here," aka the series finale) will debut on August 1 and 8, respectively. Installments from the final season are available to stream exclusively on Peacock one week after they air.
