Juliana Aidén Martinez joins the cast of NBC’s “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” for its record-breaking 26th season as Det. Kate Silva.

Martinez is a Colombian-American actress and graduate of Yale drama school. She’s best known for her breakout role in Netflix’s Emmy-nominated “Griselda,” opposite Sofia Vergara. The series follows Colombian-born Griselda Blanco (Vergara) as she creates one of the most profitable drug cartels in history with Martinez’s June Hawkins hot on her case.

Martinez previously starred in the independent 2022 thriller “Boundary,” directed by Anthony Faust. Martinez’s other credits include “9-1-1,” “The Blacklist” and “Prodigal Son.”

During her time at Yale, Martinez was selected for Lena Waithe’s Hillman Grad Mentorship Lab. The program provides opportunities for members of marginalized communities who work in the entertainment industry.
