5 Superstars The WWE Universe May Never See In NXT Again
The WWE Draft is just days away – here’s who we think is most likely to make the jump to the main roster from NXT!
We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the odds are that last night’s episode of NXT could be the last time you’ll see some of your favorite Superstars compete on Tuesday nights.
Don’t worry, nobody’s been released from their contract or anything like that, but it’s time to seriously consider the impact of the upcoming WWE Draft on the NXT roster. The WWE Draft is meant to shake things up on RAW, SmackDown and NXT, and the WWE Universe should prepare itself for everything to change. Of course, a new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned once the dust settles from the draft, but for now it’s time to focus on the best and brightest men and women competing in NXT.
Here are five Superstars we think are next in line to get drafted to RAW or SmackDown!
Bron Breakker
After a year-long reign as NXT Champion, it’s time for Bron Breakker to graduate to the main roster. Honestly, what else is left for Breakker to accomplish in NXT? Granted, he’s currently preoccupied with regaining the title he recently lost to Carmelo Hayes. Historically, though, being involved in a red-hot feud does not mean Breakker won’t hear his name called on Friday or Monday. Years ago, Kevin Owens famously debuted on RAW while still holding the NXT Championship, so the precedent has been set.
The WWE Universe may have noticed a change in attitude from Bron Breakker recently. Could that be a coincidence? Or was this change in character carefully designed to draw attention from the top brass? One year ago, we couldn’t see Breakker competing on RAW or SmackDown – now, though, his presentation is fine-tuned, and his newfound aggressiveness is tailor-made for the main roster.
Grayson Waller
Grayson Waller put himself on the map with his performance against Johnny Gargano at Stand & Deliver a few weeks back, and we’re guessing he caught the attention of the executives in charge of RAW and SmackDown in the process. Although Waller ultimately lost the match, he showed talent rarely seen by the WWE Universe (check out the above clip). He went coast-to-coast against Gargano in a way that only a few Superstars ever could.
Whether you love him or love to hate him, Grayson Waller’s charisma and athletic ability are off the charts. After captivating NXT audiences for years, he’s outgrown his fellow competitors.
Zoey Stark
We haven’t been shy about our admiration of Zoey Stark over the past year, and we believe it’s time for this innovative athlete to shine on the main roster. Although the WWE Universe may have forgotten, it’s important to remember that Zoey lasted nearly 30 minutes in the 2023 women’s Royal Rumble match, proving without a shadow of a doubt that she can hang with the best talent in the world.
It wasn’t long ago when Zoey told USA Insider, “There’s no other girl like me.” We feel the rest of the main roster will find that out shortly!
Cameron Grimes
Where has Cameron Grimes been? The WWE Universe has wondered about this since November 2022, which was the last time Grimes competed in the ring. There have been no reports of injuries, which naturally sparked speculation about his WWE future. Interestingly enough, Grimes is still very much active on social media, and if his recent Instagram photos are any indication, he has been working tirelessly to get into phenomenal shape.
Is his impressive body transformation all in preparation for a RAW or SmackDown run? That remains to be seen, but we feel Cameron Grimes has been training for a particular goal for the past six months – the main roster.
Tyler Bate
Ever since NXT UK ceased operations, the darling of the UK professional wrestling scene seems like he’s been spinning his wheels lately in NXT. Tyler Bate is inarguably one of the most talented wrestlers to ever step inside the squared circle, and at only 26 years old, many believe his best days are in front of him. At age nineteen, he became the youngest singles champion in WWE history when he became the NXT UK Champion in 2017.
If you’ve never seen Bate compete, you’re missing out. The word “prodigy” doesn’t get thrown around too often in wrestling, but the term fits the Englishman like a glove. He’d be a perfect fit on either RAW or SmackDown!
When Is the 2023 WWE Draft?
The WWE Draft is currently slated to take place during SmackDown on April 28 and during RAW on May 1, which means that for all intents and purposes, some men and women in NXT have already wrestled their final matches for that brand down in Florida. Only time will tell how much of an impact NXT Superstars will have on the main roster – some thrive and go on to amazing things, while some realize they can’t handle the bright lights and shrink under pressure.
We’re confident that Breakker, Waller, Zoey, Grimes and Bate will realize their full potential on the main roster if they get drafted. But if their names don’t get called on Friday or Monday, we expect them to continue to hone their craft and dominate the competition in NXT, just like they’ve been doing for a long time.
