Are The Cast Members Of 'Mr. Robot' Still Friends? Here's What We Know
"Mr. Robot" may have dealt with dark themes, but it seems there was a lot of bonding behind the scenes.
"Mr. Robot," the hit USA Network original series, followed a lonely hacker named Elliot Alderson as he struggled with his mental health and became involved with a shadowy political group known as "fsociety." Elliot never seemed to have many people in his life throughout the show — but in real life, the cast of "Mr. Robot" is clearly a close-knit group.
Many people who met on the show, which ran from 2015 to 2019, have formed tight bonds. Just look at cast members' wedding guest lists!
In 2017, the show's creator Sam Esmail married "Shameless" actress Emmy Rossum. "Mr. Robot" stars Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, and Carly Chaikin attended the wedding reception, which was held at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City.
"He and Emmy have a beautiful relationship," Slater later told E! News of the event. "They both are phenomenally supportive of each other and to see them celebrate in that way was great."
Malek also gushed about the couple to the outlet.
"Sam's wedding was phenomenal because you always expect the bride and groom to be a little bit nervous about that big day, and leading up to it they were pretty calm and collected. It was wild ... They're just a classy, delightful, sweet couple who knows how to have a good time," he said.
The cast also reunited at a more recent wedding when Chaikin tied the knot with a director named Ryan Bunnell in November 2021.
Chaikin posted a photo of her at the event with Slater, Malek, and Esmail on Twitter, writing, "When your dream wedding in your dream dress becomes a family affair…The brother, the father and the God father."

She had previously praised Malek to UInterview, saying, "In real life Rami really is like my brother. “We have a very brother-sister relationship and he is such a goofball and so much fun and everyone is very lighthearted on the show and we all joke around and laugh. He’s such a talented actor and working with him is so great.”
In fact, some people affiliated with "Mr. Robot" may even reunite to work together again. In 2020, Deadline reported that Esmail and Malek were developing a project called "American Radical," which is based on a book about Tamer Elnoury, a Muslim agent who went undercover in a US-based terrorism cell after September 11, 2001.
However, there hasn't been an update on the project since. We can only hope we see more from this group soon!
