Bubba Wallace’s Fiancée Gives Him Cheeky Silver Lining To Disappointment In Texas
“Finally gonna put some work in toward your wedding bod,” Bubba Wallace's bride-to-be Amanda Carter teased him following power steering problems at Texas Motor Speedway.
Rolling into NASCAR’s Cup Series Round of 12 at Texas Motor Speedway, Bubba Wallace was revving up for potentially another win like he secured during the Round of 16 at Kansas Speedway, but the ever-problematic Next Gen car had other plans as an early power steering failure in Wallace’s No. 45 Camry relegated 23XI Racing’s prodigal son to 25th place. If his poor finish wasn’t disappointing enough, Wallace’s fiancée Amanda Carter slyly texted her paramour a "silver lining" reminder as the loving couple look ahead to their wedding day. Proving he can dish it out just as well as he can take it, Wallace posted a screenshot of Carter’s playful text on Twitter, accompanied by his own sarcastic quip.
“Finally gonna put some work in toward your wedding bod,” reads Carter’s text to Wallace, triggering him to humorously caption, “My future wife coming thru with the support… #nopowersteeringprobz.”
Wallace’s eager fans jumped at the chance to weigh in on the exchange, posting a slew of amusing gifs that ranged from a hulking SpongeBob SquarePants to a giggling, always swoon-worthy Ryan Gosling.

After dating for five years, Wallace proposed in 2021 to Carter who is a senior financial analyst at Bank of America in Charlotte, North Carolina. The racing power couple are no strangers to lighting up each other’s social accounts with both funny jabs and affectionate words of endearment that offer fans a unique, inside glimpse into the dynamics of their loving relationship.
In an interview with PEOPLE Magazine in July, an emotional Wallace put his vulnerability on full display as he spoke candidly about Carter who’s been supportive of the speedster through the good times and the bad.
"I'm not sure what I would do without her," Wallace revealed during an interview with the publication at Nashville Superspeedway. "I really don't."
Now the happy couple is gearing up for their imminent holiday wedding.
“The wedding is going to be on New Year’s Eve, and we’re excited about that,” Wallace conveyed to PEOPLE. “We were able to go to one wedding on New Year’s Eve and really enjoyed it.”
"We liked New Year's Eve because it wasn't as traditional," revealed Carter, noting their big day will take place close to their home in Charlotte. "You could have more of a fun time. People can come celebrate us for a little bit, but then we can all celebrate together to bring the New Year in."
Considering there’s always a shred of truth in every joke, hopefully Wallace, whose favorite food is a big bowl of Fruit Loops, will avoid carbo loading prior to taking the plunge with Carter.
