The Rainmaker was Grisham’s sixth novel, and it was a tremendous success, selling 300,000 copies in its first four days alone. Damon played Rudy Baylor, and the cast also included Claire Danes, Jon Voight, Mary Kay Place, Mickey Rourke, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, and Roy Scheider. It received positive reviews upon its release and is now considered a classic courtroom drama.
