How Close Are The Miz & Ryan Cabrera? Well, There Are Wedding Bells Involved...
If it weren't for Mike Mizanin, Ryan Cabrera never would have met — let alone married — his wife, WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss.
In the latest episode of USA Network’s “Miz & Mrs,” fans of the series saw star Mike Mizanin spending some time on the links with a familiar face: his long-time friend, Ryan Cabrera. The pair have been attached at the hip for nearly two decades, and share a love of competition and, of course, a good time. Over the previous two seasons, he could be found standing at Mike’s side at parties and events as the pair induced their usual good-natured chaos.
However, Cabrera, a recording artist best known for his pop-rock and acoustic work, has more connections to the Mizanins than meets the eye. If it weren’t for Mike, Cabrera wouldn’t have met — let alone married — his wife, WWE Superstar Alexa Bliss.
The story goes that after a rumor started online that Alexa and Ryan were already dating, Mike hit up his friend Ryan and asked about the possibility of setting them up.
“Miz, who's best friends with Ryan, called him and asked about him dating Alexa Bliss and Ryan had no clue who I was,” Bliss told her fellow Superstars Brie and Nikki Bella on “The Bellas Podcast.” “Miz ended up telling him it's a girl he works with. Then we started chatting and he asked me to go to one of his shows and asks where I'm from. I tell him I'm in Orlando and he says he was flying to Orlando at the time for a show. I thought, 'Maybe' — because I know how musicians are, I've dated them before. I ended up going to the show and he invited me out after the show and I turned him down, but we continued to talk and he was very patient and persistent and we became amazing friends. Ultimately it turned into an amazing relationship. He's so sweet and so amazing."
In November 2020, the pair got engaged and it wasn’t long before Miz was joking about his own role in the nuptials. Because Cabrera performed at Mike’s wedding to his wife, Maryse, and because of Mike’s role in getting the couple together, he claimed he simply had to perform at the wedding.
Day of, Mike joked about the possibility of upstaging Bliss at her own wedding in April 2022 — but, of course, not even The Miz can steal the show from a bride on her wedding day. “I was like, ‘Mike, no matter what when people see my dress and me, you’re not going to upstage me,’ so I was like, ‘Do whatever you want, have fun,’ and they had fun,” Bliss told “WWE Deutschland.”
Now, in “Miz & Mrs” Season 3, best friends Mike and Cabrera are both married men — but that doesn’t stop them from getting up to their usual tit-for-tat. In Episode 3, Cabrera ribs Mike for not paying enough attention to the haters online, and even reads him a number of mean comments about his time on “Dancing with the Stars.” It’s all in good fun, of course, and Mike does eventually overcome his momentary lapse in confidence. What will the duo get up to next? Find out when new episodes of “Miz & Mrs” premiere Monday nights at 11 p.m. ET on USA Network.
