'I Had Tears In My Eyes:' Stacy Keibler Reacts to WWE Hall of Fame Nod
The Hall of Fame Class of 2023 keeps getting bigger and bigger!
Look out, Rey Mysterio: One of the most beloved WWE Superstars ever could steal some of your thunder this Friday during the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony!
WWE fans worldwide — especially those who grew up in the Attitude Era — are rejoicing over the latest WrestleMania weekend news: Stacy Keibler will be honored as the newest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame. PEOPLE broke the news Monday afternoon and even managed to speak to Stacy and get her thoughts on this much-deserved recognition.

"The fans are the ones that made it possible," Stacy explained to PEOPLE. "I owe so much to them for getting me to this point in my career. I've spent time just reflecting, and I feel so lucky to have this extraordinary time with the organization, the community, but most of all the fans. And it's shaped my life, and there's nothing else that can get me more excited in the exact same way as being live in front of the WWE fans. Their passion is contagious. So I'm just so excited."
The 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony will mark Stacy's first WWE appearance since she memorably inducted her friend Torrie Wilson into the 2019 Hall of Fame.
While we are excited about this announcement, we have to hand it to the fans: They predicted it! Today's news confirms speculation shared by many in the WWE Universe, which started last week when Stacy re-activated her long-dormant Twitter account:
Many fans assumed this was an indication that Stacy would soon reveal she was next in line for the WWE Hall of Fame; the timing of WrestleMania weekend and Stacy's Twitter re-activation had to be more than just a coincidence. As it turns out, those fans were right on the money!
From her humble beginnings as a fan early in her life, she transitioned into the world of pro wrestling after a short stint as a Baltimore Ravens NFL cheerleader, becoming an integral member of WCW's "Nitro Girls" dance squad. Of course, when WWE purchased WCW in 2001, the rest is history: Stacy became one of the most beloved fan favorites in WWE history, as the wrestling fan hood that lived inside her catapulted her to success in front of a worldwide audience. To many in the WWE Universe, Stacy Keibler being a part of the WWE Hall of Fame is a no-brainer. However, to Stacy herself, it came as a shock.
"I never thought I would be in the Hall of Fame, to be honest," she told PEOPLE. "I was completely shocked when I got the call. I had tears in my eyes. I was completely overwhelmed with just gratefulness."
Stacy, who married in 2014 and has quite the adorable family (if we do say so ourselves), revealed that she wouldn't be attending Friday evening's Hall of Fame ceremony solo. Instead, Stacy's version of The Bloodline will accompany her in Los Angeles!
"My husband's coming, my husband's family's coming, my family, my kids," Stacy revealed. "We have friends coming from L.A., from Austin. So it's really exciting because a lot of these people didn't get to see me in action."
