Lascelles Claims He Didn’t Forget About Ashley On ‘Temptation Island': ‘It’s Heartbreaking’
Ashley Rodriguez reveals how she really felt seeing Lascelles Lagares express his love for Trace on "Temptation Island."
One of the most shocking parts of “Temptation Island” Season 4? Watching how quickly Lascelles Lagares has fallen for one of the singles.
The third episode of the “Temptation Island After Show” forced Lascelles to explain his intense connection with single model Trace Winningham. The men and women watched the week’s bonfire ceremony and Lascelles got to see his girlfriend, Ashley Rodriguez, react to his declaration that Trace is what he needs in his life just days after meeting her.
Watching the moment with her fellow ladies, Ashley notes she was “shocked” at the time to see her boyfriend of seven years declaring his intense interest in another woman so quickly.
Ashley noted several times on the show she needs her boyfriend to open up to her and let her in on his emotions. At the bonfire, she was disappointed to see he was able to do that with Trace so easily.
“We never had that emotional deep conversation before,” she said at the time.
Watching the moment in the “Temptation Island After Show,” Lascelles says they have had conversations like that, but argues her issue is she doesn’t always hear what she wants from them.
“I feel like I’m the same way,” he insists. “I’m giving myself out more than I’m paying attention. So, I think we’re both in the same boat there.”
Meanwhile, Ashley continues to vent to the other women about what happened at the bonfire and how disappointed she was to see her man fall so deeply, so fast.
“When I heard Lascelles say Trace is exactly what he needs in his life, in my head, I’m like, ‘OK, so was our seven-year relationship exactly what you needed? Was it real? Were you really being your true self? Were you really showing me that love?’” she says.
Lascelles tries his best to explain to the guys what exactly was going through his head at the time, blaming his speedy emotional connection on abruptly finding himself in a setting where he could be single on “Temptation Island.”
“I wasn’t expecting to feel this way so early on,” he says. “I’ve barely met Trace and things are picking up so fast that I felt like I couldn’t slow it down. Everyone gets a piece of Lascelles. That’s a common theme that’s been in my life. I’ve always been giving of my energies to everyone who might not deserve it.”
But still, he claims, he never once forgot about Ashley.
“It’s heartbreaking because I love Ashley and the last thing I want is to hurt her,” he says. “So the feeling of hurting her and possibly losing her forever, that’s something I can’t see myself living with.”
Will his feelings for Ashley prevail, or will his newfound emotional connection to Trace lead his life in a new direction? Those curious will just have to tune into the remainder of “Temptation Island” Season 4 to find out.
