Could The Undertaker Be Planning a WWE Comeback?
The Undertaker reveals a potential WWE return has been on his mind recently!
For countless WWE Superstars, deciding your career has reached its end is incredibly difficult – and according to one retired legend, regrets about retirement can linger years after you had your "final" match!
As we all know, retirement is not always permanent in professional wrestling. Rumors are flying that The Undertaker has second thoughts about staying away from in-ring competition. It seems, based on what The Dead Man has said lately, it's officially time to start wondering if The Undertaker will attempt a WWE comeback sooner rather than later!

The Undertaker Talks Ending His WWE Retirement
The Undertaker's final match occurred at WrestleMania 36 when he defeated AJ Styles in a historic Boneyard Match. This never-before-seen bout mainly occurred in and around a cemetery and is one of the most chaotic WrestleMania matches in history. When the final bell rang, it signaled the end of The Undertaker's legendary WWE career, and it stands as one of the most fitting final matches any Superstar has had.
However, The Undertaker seems to feel the "itch" to get back in the squared circle! Could a WrestleMania 40 appearance be in the cards for one of the greatest WWE Superstars ever? Although we highly doubt it, The Undertaker's comments make us second-guess our intuitions. During a subscribers-only Q&A session for listeners of his popular Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker revealed that he is struggling with the notion of staying retired, admitting that the entire process has been challenging.
"I knew my time had come, but I wasn't ready for it to come," he explained. "I just knew that my body couldn't deliver on what my mind and my heart wanted to give the fans. So it was kind of difficult."
The WWE Universe could see The Undertaker's rapidly deteriorating physical condition in the final few years of his career. However, nevertheless, his retirement (and the fact he's stayed retired this whole time) still came as a shock. On his podcast, he admitted that he's grappling with a significant void in his life.
"You have to remember that, for over half of my life, being in the ring is what I did," he stated. "And then it's not there anymore. And it does – it leaves a huge void in you. I hope it goes away at some point, but as of now, it hasn't. It's still tough for me. I'm still coming to grips with it."
Although it genuinely seems The Undertaker has wrestled his last match in WWE, comments like this make us second-guess his decision:
"I may or may not have said to my wife recently that I was going to make a comeback," The Undertaker confessed. "Fortunately, I think I've talked myself out of that."
That's the beauty of being one of the greatest WWE Superstars ever – the door to return is always open.
When Did The Undertaker Last Appear on WWE Television?
Although he hasn't competed in an official capacity during a match since his retirement at WrestleMania 36, The Undertaker hasn't shied away from getting physical in the ring! The last time the WWE Universe saw The Undertaker appear on television was during the October 10, 2023 edition of NXT. The Dead Man had a showdown with Bron Breakker – and the meeting did not go in Breakker's favor!
Even in retirement, The Undertaker is clearly still capable of wrecking his fellow WWE Superstars with a devastating chokeslam.
So, while WrestleMania 40 rumors begin to fly over the purported return of one of the best to lace up a pair of wrestling boots, the WWE Universe can rest assured that The Undertaker is allegedly going through some significant WWE-related withdrawal.
If The Undertaker decides to return, he'll be welcomed back into the fold with open arms. If he stays retired, we know the WWE Universe will have nothing but respect for that particular decision.
