WWE's Mysterio Family Feud Spills Over Into The World Of NASCAR
Rey and Dominik finally faced off one-on-one — NASCAR style.
The bitter family feud between Rey Mysterio and his son, Dominik, has been dominating WWE fans’ attention for the past 6 months now, showing no signs of cooling off anytime soon — and the WWE Universe has just been treated to the latest chapter in their saga.
The world of NASCAR has officially collided with the Superstars of WWE, and in true pro wrestling fashion, the drama was at a maximum high at the LA Memorial Coliseum. Rey, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods were busy filming crossover promotional material for NASCAR when they were rudely interrupted by the Judgment Day — leading to an impromptu race between the two Mysterio men!
The WWE Universe was treated to some quality smack talk from both men throughout the race, highlighted by Dominik — surely a fan of the Fast and the Furious film franchise — repeatedly asking “where’s the NOS?” and declaring “I learned this from my cellmate who used to be an ex-getaway driver!”

Unfortunately, the B-movie-level trash talk did not help Dominik (although it was extremely entertaining), because when the dust settled, Rey captured the checkered flag after a tightly-contested race — a near-photo finish. But the drama didn’t end there: Both factions nearly came to blows after Dominik threw his helmet at his father, leading to the track’s fire rescue team intervening. NASCAR stars such as Michael Waltrip and TrackHouse Racing’s Ross Chastain were left speechless as an impromptu no-holds-barred match nearly happened right there inside LA Memorial Coliseum.
Nevertheless, the WWE drama didn’t seem to phase Chastain, as he scored a top-10 finish at Sunday’s Clash at the Coliseum, the first event of the NASCAR Cup season. It’s a great start to the season for the man who finished runner-up in the 2022 Cup Series as Chastain looks to capture the title in 2023 and bring even more accolades to TrackHouse Racing.
Still, based on the chaos of this past weekend, there’s a lot to unpack on the WWE side of things. After what just unfolded on the track, we now have to wonder: Are Rey and Dom both traveling down the same Road to WrestleMania? Are they destined to face off on the Grandest Stage of Them All?
It’s shocking to think that the two men haven’t settled their differences in the ring yet — ever since Dominik turned on his own father (and Edge) at Clash of the Castle, the WWE Universe has been salivating over a possible matchup between the two Mysterios:
Now that the Mysterio rivalry has spilled over into the NASCAR world and Rey already has gained a racing victory over his son, in our humble opinion there is now only one option left to explore: A one-on-one match at WrestleMania.
Although seeing two family members clashing at the premiere WWE event of the year may not be what either Mysterio wants to see, sometimes it must be taken to that extreme. It’s clear that the issues between Rey and Dominik cannot be fixed easily — and a high-profile match at WrestleMania may be just the thing to settle things between the two of them once and for all.
On the plus side, with WrestleMania still over two months away, that gives Dominik plenty of time to brush up on his trash-talk game.
