WWE Superstar Bayley Auctioning Ring Gear to Raise Money for Maui Relief
Here's an opportunity to own ring-worn gear from WWE's Bayley and help animals devastated by the recent tragedy in Hawaii.
The leader of Damage Ctrl, Bayley, is taking a break from her typical villainy and showing off a softer side for all the right reasons!
The WWE Superstar is going to provide support to an area of the country that really needs it right now by using her in-ring star power.
What is Bayley Raising Money For?
WWE Superstar Bayley – a women's Grand Slam Champion – is flexing her philanthropic muscles by raising money for a truly great cause. She recently announced on social media that she would auction off used ring gear to the WWE Universe, with all proceeds going to the Hawaiian Animal Rescue Foundation.
On August 8, parts of Maui, Hawaii, were devastated by fire, setting the historic Lahaina town ablaze. It's estimated that nearly 8,000 residents have been displaced and an untold number of pets and animals are still homeless. City officials report rebuilding and restoring Lahaina to its former glory will take years. Fortunately, the process will hopefully move faster thanks to the generosity of men and women like Bayley. All proceeds from Bayley's auctions will go toward the Hawaiian Animal Rescue Foundation. This no-kill rescue will ensure that any animal displaced by the fire will be safe, happy, and healthy moving forward. As a well-known animal lover, Bayley's involvement in this particular cause shouldn't be surprising to anyone.
She set up multiple eBay auctions that are scheduled to end the bidding process late on September 21. As of September 14, Bayley's six pieces of ring-worn gear have amassed nearly $30,000! The WWE Universe is really stepping up to help out a great cause – and own pieces of Bayley's WWE history in the process.
What Used Ring Gear is Bayley Auctioning Off?
Fans will be happy to know that Bayley is graciously letting go of some seriously iconic outfits from her past eight years in WWE. Arguably, the most historical piece is her complete ring attire from February 2018's Elimination Chamber event, which saw her and other WWE Superstars compete in the first all-female Elimination Chamber match in history! The match was a grueling, near-30-minute affair that saw Bayley unfortunately come up short, as Alexa Bliss walked out as champion when the final bell rang.
Apparently, the WWE Universe doesn't mind that Bayley didn't capture the championship while wearing this particular set of gear – the bidding just crossed the $11,000 mark as of this writing. Talk about a statement piece – Bayley's Elimination Chamber 2018 attire would be an invaluable addition to any fan's collection.
Other notable pieces include:
- An all-black outfit emblazoned with Bayley's "Ding Dong, Hello" logo, worn on multiple occasions during WWE's Thunderdome Era in 2021
- A black vest worn frequently by Bayley during her memorable tag team run alongside Sasha Banks in 2018 as The Boss' n' Hug Connection
- Purple ring gear worn during a title defense against Tamina at Money in the Bank 2020
- Her iconic attire that defined her early NXT run in 2015 – more specifically, ring gear that she wore against a fresh-faced Becky Lynch (a steal at its current price of just over $4,000, in our humble opinion!)
- A blue "Role Model" vest Bayley frequently wore on WWE TV in 2020 when she held both a singles title and a tag team championship
With still a week left in Bayley's auctions, there's plenty of time for the WWE Universe to accomplish two things: Support the animals that were displaced in the Maui fire and own a piece of in-ring history! It will be interesting to see how high the bidding goes in the upcoming week. There are certainly enough exciting pieces Bayley has put up for auction to make the Hawaiian Animal Rescue Foundation very happy. We're confident the bids will go even higher over the next few days.
Of course, if participating in Bayley's auctions is out of your price range, any fan can bypass the bidding process and donate directly to the Hawaiian Animal Rescue Foundation.
Who knows? Maybe Bayley will inadvertently start a trend among WWE Superstars. Perhaps others will use her fundraising plan as a blueprint to support causes they believe in as well while allowing the WWE Universe to own essential pieces of their career. Imagine if Superstars like LA Knight, Roman Reigns, and Charlotte Flair stepped up and put some of their used ring gear up for bidding!
Bayley, we must give you credit – we think you're onto something here.
