WWE Survivor Series: WarGames: How to Watch and What to Expect
It's a November tradition like no other when WWE's Survivor Series rolls around.
With all due respect to Thanksgiving, every WWE fan knows that Survivor Series is the highlight of every November.
The longtime annual event (the first Survivor Series occurred in 1987) is as essential to the holiday season as turkey and cranberry sauce, and the WWE Universe doesn't have to wait much longer for this year's edition! WWE Premium Live Events happen at a breakneck pace, and even though fans are still digesting the results of Crown Jewel, it's time to look ahead to Survivor Series: WarGames.
Here's everything wrestling fans need to know — including how to tune in!
What is Survivor Series: WarGames?
While Survivor Series has evolved into one of the "Big Four" PLEs WWE presents each year (along with WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Royal Rumble), it initially was created as a way for fans to see interesting matches that never would've seen the light of day on television.
Historically, most matches at the event were four-on-four or five-on-five elimination tag team matches, usually involving WWE Superstars embroiled in the fiercest rivalries. Long before Hell in a Cell matches and WarGames matches came traditional Survivor Series matches, which saw feuds end when all members of a team were eliminated via pinfall, submission, or countout.
The unique concept was responsible for some of the best WWE memories of the '80s and '90s, like this unforgettable elimination tag match from Survivor Series 1989 — The Hulkamaniacs vs. The Million Dollar Team:
There's nothing better than an all-star tag match with your favorite wrestlers!
While traditional elimination tag team matches aren't a cornerstone of the event anymore, that doesn't mean Survivor Series is boring — the opposite, in fact! It's the most important event remaining on the WWE calendar, which makes Survivor Series 2024 about as can't-miss as it gets!
This year, WWE is bringing back WarGames in all its glory for one more go-round!
Where and when will Survivor Series: WarGames take place?
Survivor Series: WarGames takes place on Saturday, November 30, 2024, and will be broadcast live from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Rogers Arena — formerly known as General Motors Palace — last hosted an event of this caliber over 25 years ago when WWE presented In Your House: Rock Bottom on December 13, 1998. That event was main-evented by Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Undertaker in a Buried Alive match:
Here's how to watch Survivor Series: WarGames
Like all WWE Premium Live Events, fans in the United States can enjoy Survivor Series: WarGames on Peacock! According to WWE's official Survivor Series: WarGames website, the event is scheduled to begin on November 30 at 5:30 pm ET.
That sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday evening! (We've already saved our spots on the couch.)
The WarGames match returns on Saturday, November 30
PLEs are jam-packed with a handful of exciting matches, and Survivor Series: WarGames is no exception, as the event will be highlighted by the WarGames match itself. The 2023 men's WarGames match was epic and lived up to the lofty expectations the world had for the bout. But don't take our word for it — watch the full match below to get a taste of what to expect during the 2024 iteration of the event!
Who else still gets the chills when rewatching CM Punk's shock return to WWE after so many years?
The WWE Universe knows to expect carnage, unpredictability, and off-the-charts drama whenever their favorite Superstars are locked inside the double-ring steel cage with their biggest adversaries! (And maybe a surprise or two, if last year's event is any indication.)
In addition to at least one WarGames match (presumably two), the WWE Universe can expect advancements in the Bloodline storyline and a handful of high-profile championship matches. Who knows, the WWE Universe could see Cody Rhodes put his coveted Undisputed WWE Championship up for grabs once again.
In fact, it's safe to assume that if any champion isn't involved in a WarGames match they should be preparing to defend their title inside Rogers Arena!
While WarGames will be the center of attention in 2024 (and rightfully so), many of WWE's all-time greatest moments have happened during Survivor Series over the past 40 years — so fans should expect more of the same this year. Superstars like Cody Rhodes, Gunther, Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Liv Morgan, and Nia Jax — just to name a few — all figure to be involved in the evening's festivities in one form or another.
You can tune in to Peacock to watch WWE Survivor Series on November 30. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock.
