WWE's Titus O'Neil Helps Out In Florida In Wake Of Hurricane Ian's Destruction
WWE’s Global Ambassador is putting his time and resources to good use after Hurricane Ian made landfall on Wednesday.
Former WWE Superstar and WWE’s Global Ambassador Titus O’Neil traveled to Tampa, Florida, yesterday to help render aid to those affected by Hurricane Ian. The Warrior Award recipient, who has dedicated much of his adult life to charity, partnered with Metropolitan Ministries to deliver over 15,000 hot meals, 10,000 cold meals, and phone charging stations to the most affected areas.
According to NBC News, more than 2.5 million people are still without power after the Category 4 storm hit Florida on Wednesday, and the death toll has risen to at least 14 as of publishing. O’Neil is also partnering with World Central Kitchen, Next Level Brands Hospitality, and other philanthropists and volunteers who will be in Tampa Bay all weekend long to help those affected. Some of the other aid items will include non-perishable food drive-throughs, bagged lunches, and supplies of bottled water.
O’Neil himself founded his own charity, the Bullard Family Foundation, which provides families with resources and programs to improve their communities and build character. His last WWE match was on RAW in November 2020 when he lost to Bobby Lashley in a United States Championship match. Although it has been almost two years, the former Gator footballer confirmed in a recent interview that he is not retired from in-ring competition.
“I’m not retired. I haven’t wrestled in a minute but I had a procedure done on my knees that I’m rehabbing. A lot of people don’t know that so they just assume that I’ve been retired, but I’m a global ambassador for the company. I’m doing a lot of stuff,” O’Neil explained.
As we can see here, it’s no mystery why the former Tag Team champion was chosen to be WWE’s Global Ambassador and received a Warrior Award for his charitable work as he traveled toward the danger during this tropical storm. You can relive O’Neil’s days inside the ring and look at some of his awesome charity work anytime on the WWE Network on Peacock!
