Firehouses

Station 8 - West Hollywood

Located off the famous Sunset Strip, this station runs alongside different firehouses in the city, including Beverly Hills and Los Angeles. Surrounded by colossal structures, they regularly deal with the intricacies of putting out fires in large apartment complexes and high-rise buildings. Captains Mike Carolan and Roy Ortiz, both born into firefighter families, lead with the guiding principles of service and brotherhood at the forefront. Personal and professional lives blend in their firehouse as the squad rallies together to support fellow firefighter and cancer survivor David Castellanos.

Station 16 - Watts

This squad is nicknamed "The Fire Factory" for its quirky crew but is one of the most sought-after and well-respected stations. These passionate individuals take deep pride in serving an otherwise neglected community as many of these firefighters grew up in similar, underprivileged circumstances. Longtime Captain Dan Olivas leads with heart and is a father figure to his squad. His loyalty to his crew is unmatched, so it comes as no surprise that his own son, Jeff Olivas (firefighter/paramedic), is a rookie at LACoFD who hopes to follow in his father's footsteps and climb the ranks. Grade school friends Tony Huynh (engineer) and Paco Lomeli (firefighter/paramedic) go above and beyond the call of duty for their community. Tony is living out his childhood dream and handles every call with meticulousness and the utmost care. Paco leans on his work family to get through personal challenges and is seen as mentor to kids in the neighborhood. Firefighter Erik Gunn is a south LA native who knows the ins and outs of the community he serves. His tireless work ethic earned him a master's degree in history.

Station 37 - Palmdale

As one of the oldest and most beloved stations in the county, downtown Palmdale's firefighters carry an immense amount of pride in the community they serve. Their motto is "every day's a holiday" because each day is filled with unpredictable, nonstop calls. Despite their different experiences as they rose through the ranks, Captains Stan Maloof and Eric Tumbarello are both faced with juggling family life with their responsibilities at the firehouse. The son of a LACoFD fire captain who left a steady career in finance, Stan has a lot to prove. One of the younger members of the squad, Derek Alvizo (firefighter/paramedic), followed in his stepdad's footsteps when he joined the force and is still adjusting to the hard reality of lives lost on the job. At the station for two years, kind-hearted Derek Murphy (firefighter/paramedic) attempts to navigate his fire duties with his role as stage dad to his twin boys at home. Embracing his grandfather and father's legacies at this very firehouse, fitness junkie Mike Ricker (engineer) brings levity to the group with his boisterous personality.

Station 41 - Compton

This engine runs the most calls in the county and has always been too demanding of a place for a probationary firefighter, but this year, they have their first Boot. The area can be rough and dangerous, but the community is resilient and filled with love and respect for their firefighters. A welcome presence for the community at any scene, Captain Scott Woods has his hands full working at one of the busiest stations in Los Angeles. He is an inspiration and mentor to the younger firefighters, including Erin Scuoler (boot) and Alex Castorena (firefighter/paramedic). As a woman in a male-dominated field and the first boot welcomed at this station, Erin has a lot to prove but is up to any challenge. She's thrilled to work under Captain Wood's leadership and hopes to continue serving at this station where she knows her medical skills can make a real difference. Meanwhile, Alex is a warmhearted paramedic who often takes the lead on medical calls. During his down time, he enjoys joking around with the crew and riding around on his motorcycle.

Station 101 - Claremont

After being told she wouldn't make it as a female firefighter, Siene Freeman (firefighter/paramedic) never gave up on her lifelong dream. Always wanting to help those around her, she's continued to prove that she belongs in this field. A wife and mother to two young kids, Siene's biggest challenge has been finding a balance between her demanding job as a firefighter and spending quality time at home with her family.

Station 125 - Calabasas

Over the hills near Malibu, this station is housed in one of the most luxurious and stunning parts of Los Angeles. With a dynamically diverse team, nothing can stop their skill, determination and progress. As the 15th female ever hired by LACoFD, Captain Sheila Kelliher is a trailblazer with a passion for teaching new recruits to be their best in the field. A mother to twin boys, she constantly balances being a parent and leader to her squad. Firefighter Anthony Alvarez was both a military and NASA firefighter before joining LACoFD.

Station 172 - Inglewood

This group of firefighters brings the best energy to the town. They pride themselves on being one of the most diverse stations as they serve as role models to their community. Captains Chris Davis and Kevin Grayson are proud veterans who joined LACoFD after serving in the Marines and Army, respectively. Michael Anderson (firefighter/paramedic) aspired to become a firefighter at a young age, and it was this passion that kept him off the streets and led him to join this field, where he is known for being a tech nerd around the station. Aarin Wingfield (firefighter/paramedic/USAR) served in Iraq as a general mechanic for a field artillery unit before joining LACoFD. He's driven by a motivation to push past his fears and fight for something bigger than himself. Dushone Roman (firefighter/paramedic) strives to always be dependable and does everything in his power to be there for the community. As a big family man with twins at home, he teaches at the local community college during his free time.

Air Operations

Also known as the "Angels in the Sky," this high-flying crew is accustomed to high-stakes distress calls, only responding to the most urgent patients and hard-to-reach locations. Captains Johnny Gray III and Dave Baumann share an unbridled passion for their jobs. Johnny is a pioneer in the field, having left his professional basketball career to become the youngest person ever assigned to Air Operations. President of the Stentorians, a foundation that provides support to Black firefighters, Johnny considers being a dad his best job. Dave has been a firefighter for 28 years, a paramedic for 24 years and air operation certified for 10 years. Following in his father's footsteps, he set out to be the best in the game and now performs a variety of advanced firefighting operations via helicopter throughout Los Angeles County. Mike Sagely (pilot), a 22-year military veteran who has lived a life of service, coordinates daily operational planning, training and supervision of duty aircraft and crew members.

Lifeguards

The LA County Fire Department Lifeguard Division is the largest professional lifeguard service in the world. It's also home to a tight-knit group determined to uphold its reputation while also enjoying the scenic benefits of the job. Captains John Zimpelman and Kyle Powers turned their passion for water sports into a lifeguarding career. Proud of the reputations they have built, both strive to be role models for those on their team and children at home. A junior lifeguard at 8 years old, Alli Hopkins followed in her brother and uncle's footsteps when she joined LACoFD. She's working toward a promotion in her lifeguard career while also eyeing a career in fashion. Matt Rhodes (Baywatch boat captain) is a respected member of the division with a strong record for saving lives. Notably, he received the Los Angeles County Lifeguard Medal of Valor in 2017 for a harrowing boat rescue.
