Sharon Jones was the lead singer of the soul and funk band Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, with whom she released four albums from 2002 to 2010. In 2014, she released her debut solo album, Give the People What They Want, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album. Prior to her death in 2016, Jones recorded the album Soul of a Woman with the Dap-Kings. The group, along with members of The Roots, will perform a song off the album in tribute to Jones.
