Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick is an American civil rights activist and former quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers. His first season as starting quarterback led the team to their first Super Bowl in 18 years. Kaepernick's civil rights activism earned him a number of awards such as Sports Illustrated's Muhammad Ali Legacy Award, Harvard University’s W. E. B. Du Bois Medal and the Ripple of Hope Award from the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. His children’s book, We Are Free, You and Me, will be released in October 2024. All proceeds from the book will go towards Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights youth camp.
