David Chang is the chef and founder of Momofuku restaurants. After graduating from the French Culinary Institute in 2000, he worked as a line cook at Mercer Kitchen, the eatery of French restaurateur Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and joined chef Tom Colicchio's restaurant Craft. In 2004, Chang opened Momofuku Noodle Bar. Momofuku Ssäm Bar, Momofuku Ko and Momofuku Milk Bar soon followed, eventually leading to 12 total Momofuku eateries. Chang's culinary skills have earned him accolades from the James Beard Foundation, and Momofuku Ko maintained a two-Michelin-star rating until its closure in 2023. Season 2 of his Netflix original series, Dinner Time Live with David Chang, premieres in October 2024.
