WWE SummerSlam 2023: How To Watch and What To Expect
WWE Universe, brace yourself for the party of the summer! SummerSlam is almost here and here's everything you need to know to watch it.
Prepare yourselves, WWE Universe because SummerSlam is less than a month away! After the summer was sufficiently preheated by the action that transpired at Night of Champions and Money in the Bank, full attention should be given to the next blockbuster night on the calendar: SummerSlam 2023 on August 5. Here's everything you need to know about the biggest Premium Live Event of the summer.
How to Watch WWE SummerSlam 2023
If you live in the United States, there's only one way to catch SummerSlam.
On August 5, tune into Peacock, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. For WWE fans outside the U.S., SummerSlam 2023 is available on WWE Network and other outlets.

The WWE makes its PLE return to the United States after a short stint overseas. Sadly, that means the greatness of watching WWE in the afternoon is no longer in the cards for U.S.-based fans! SummerSlam will begin at 8 p.m. Eastern, with a kickoff show beginning one hour prior.
What is WWE SummerSlam?
Simply put, SummerSlam is the party of the summer! Call it WrestleMania in August if you so choose because the atmosphere and lineup of SummerSlam have historically been off the charts. From its humble beginnings as a pay-per-view event in 1988, SummerSlam has been one of the crown jewel events on the WWE calendar.
Where Will WWE SummerSlam 2023 Take Place?
The legendary Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, will host the 2023 edition of SummerSlam.
This marks the most significant event to come to the Motor City since WrestleMania 23. On that day in 2007, over 80,000 members of the WWE Universe attended WrestleMania 23, setting a Ford Field attendance record that still stands today.
Will SummerSlam's official attendance break the 80,000 mark? It's highly likely. WWE has only gotten hotter since the mid-2000s, and SummerSlam's reputation as WrestleMania-esque has only gotten more solidified in recent years.
What Can the WWE Universe Expect At SummerSlam?
If the 2022 edition of SummerSlam is any indication, the WWE Universe is in for another unforgettable evening filled with classic matches and iconic moments:
(We're still reeling from Brock Lesnar's viral tractor moment – it's something we never thought we'd see in wrestling!)
Last year, we saw the return of Bayley and the main roster debut of her Damage Ctrl teammates, Logan Paul putting himself on the map by decisively defeating The Miz in a match that had its fair share of viral moments, and countless other moments that took the WWE Universe's collective breath away. So, if you're wondering what to expect when SummerSlam comes to the Motor City, it's fair to say that you should expect significant movement in ongoing WWE storylines, feuds, and rivalries!
For example, Cody Rhodes' ongoing rivalry with Brock Lesnar has captivated the WWE Universe since the RAW After WrestleMania. With the series tied at two wins each, there's no better opportunity for these two Superstars to have their rubber match than at SummerSlam. Of course, whenever a feud turns as personal and physical as Cody and Brock's has, we have to assume a major stipulation will be announced for the final match of their trilogy. We could see a Last Man Standing match or even a Hell in a Cell match take center stage at Ford Field!
In addition, everyone knows that Roman Reigns suffered his first pinfall loss in over three years at Money in the Bank 2023 – courtesy of Jey Uso. The Bloodline's continued collapse has been the wrestling world's hottest storyline for years. Jey officially challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on the July 7 episode of SmackDown. Will the match be made official for SummerSlam?
When you take a closer look at WWE, there are many potential matches on the table for SummerSlam. Drew McIntyre made his long-awaited return to WWE at Money in the Bank and seemingly is laser-focused on taking the Intercontinental Championship away from Gunther – will SummerSlam be when these two behemoths meet in the ring? Logan Paul and Ricochet seem to be on a collision course as well. As we all know, Logan Paul is intimately familiar with putting on jaw-dropping performances at SummerSlam.
There's still plenty of time to mark your calendars – you won't want to miss SummerSlam 2023!
You can tune in to Peacock to watch WWE's SummerSlam on August 5. In the meantime, catch up on all things WWE Universe on Peacock as well.
