The Power of Purple: The Anonymous S1 E5 Highlight

Throughout this inaugural season of USA Network's strategy competition series, The Anonymous, event producer Andy King has been playing a very strong game. While initially infamous for his candor during a documentary about the infamous Fyre Festival, King's proven his skills with handling lots of dramatic personalities and still coming out the good guy are mighty.

How to Watch

Watch The Anonymous on USA Network and Peacock.

SPOILER ALERT:  This article will spoil details about USA Network's The Anonymous.

As of this week, King has survived nine episodes in this heated game of social strategy that puts 12 people under one roof with an anonymous aspect to the gameplay. While Andy hasn't been in the Anonymous driver's seat yet, he has been able to wriggle away from the ire of those who have voted out their fellow players. King's got that magic balance of being a player to worry about, while also being more valuable to others still in the game.

So when King found out his long-time ally, Jack Usher, was playing chess to everyone else's checkers all season, there was some genuine shock. King shared with USA Insider his reaction to Usher being taken out by Victoria Vesce and outed as Football and Flamingo.

The Anonymous sees Andy getting blindsided by Jack

Xavier Prather, Andy King, and Nina Twine appear in The Anonymous, Season 1 Episode 1.

As the self-crowned "whisperer" of The Anonymous house, King said that he spent a lot of his time releasing the proverbial pressure values around many of the show's more high strung participants.

"I would say, 'Do your best. Walk in that room and put on that dress you wore last night. You hold your head up high!' Meanwhile, everybody's crying. And I'm like, 'Guys, this is just a game.'"

And then it got personal with Usher's reveal that he voted out a lot of the house in his turns as the Anonymous.

"The Jack factor just threw me," King admitted.

However, King also doesn't regret having an alliance with Usher in the end.

"Let's use the example that the President of the United States is only as good as the people he surrounds himself with," he explained. "I know that with the show there was the whole piece about alliances versus going it on your own. In my experiences in the world, without a good alliance, you're f-ed. You've got to have a good alliance. But with the show and lot of different aspects in real life, you need to get to a certain point where, if you want to win something or get somewhere, you've got to surge ahead on your own. So I knew that strategy was the right way to go. And the alliance that I set up with me and Jack and Nina worked beautifully."

While King said he never questioned how smart Usher was, he never suspected that he was Football.

"Strategically, was a mastermind," he said without malice. "But I have not spoken to Jack. He sent me a text saying something like, 'Hey, I love you or whatever.' And I said, 'Right back at you.'"

Can't wait for those reunion stories.

Watch all-new episodes of The Anonymous on Mondays at 11 p.m. ET/PT on USA Network.
