Bianca Belair Places First In Wellness, Second In Fitness At Bodybuilding Competition
Bianca Belair just added another sport to her resume: bodybuilding.
Bianca Belair has always been a multisport athlete. Originally competing in Track and Field where she was named an All-SEC and All-American athlete at the University of Tennessee and then transitioning to Crossfit, the EST of WWE has always had her way when it comes to competition. After her days in Crossfit, she seamlessly transitioned to the world of professional wrestling where she is now the reigning RAW Women’s Champion and one of the most impressive Superstars the WWE has ever seen. Belair just recently added another sport to her resume after she came in first place in the WBFF fitness competition in New Jersey last weekend.
Belair took to her Instagram to show off her physical transformation and reveal that for the past 10 weeks, she has been training non-stop for the bodybuilding competition. In addition, she talked about how the journey taught her a lot about herself and allowed her to foster a healthier relationship with dieting and working out.
“This journey has taught me so much about myself & how much I have grown and evolved from that little girl in High School and College who was obsessed with being the best but took it too far and over trained constantly. The little girl who had such an unhealthy relationship with food and struggled with eating disorders that even years later as an adult I couldn’t even hear the word “diet” without being triggered,” Belair explained in the post.
She elaborated: “I wanted to push myself, test myself… see if I could commit without taking it too far, see if I had learned to listen to my body, see if I could diet again and have self control without going off on the deep end. I truly faced my fears with this one. I invested these 10 weeks to relearn myself and it took me on a self discovery journey of self love, commitment, and dedication to myself. It was physically challenging with finding time to train consistently between my WWE schedule of being on the road for live events, TV’s, traveling internationally to Mexico & Saudi Arabia, having historical matches like the Ladder Match, Last Woman Standing Match, & 45 minutes in a War Games match the WEEK BEFORE the competition! It was so hard but I gave it my all… sometimes after my matches and shows I was right there in the gym late at night getting my workouts in and constant travel with meal prep food to stick to my diet… but just as much as it was physically challenging it was more so mental!”
As if winning the bodybuilding competition during her first show wasn't impressive enough, all outfits and bikinis worn by Belair were made by herself! Historically, Belair has sewn her own ring gear and Crossfit outfits as well. The EST took home first place in the Wellness category and second place in the Fitness category of the show.
Belair helped lead her team to victory in last week’s epic War Games match. Next week on RAW, Alexa Bliss and Bayley will square off one-on-one for the right to face Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship.
